Greetings, hopefully healthy and keep the spirit. This time I will try to share information about Influence Learning Model Cooperative Learning Type Jigsaw Against Understanding Student Concept With Variable Moderator Student Motivation (Experimental Study on IPS Subject Students Class VIII SMPN 1 Kalimanggis District Kuningan). Well let’s get on with it.
The background of this research is because of the low of students understanding concept based on semester test achievement that is still under the standar criteria. It’s suspected cause by the low motivation of students learning as a result of conventional models developed by teacher.
The objectives of this research are to do the experiment about the learning model of cooperative learning through jigsaw compared with the conventional one. And to know the impact to the students understanding concept. The hypothesis are follows: 1) there is a difference between students’ understanding using cooperative learning models through jigsaw with the conventional one. 2) There is a difference between the students who have better, common and low learning motivation 3) there is an interaction between learning models and students learning motivation in influencing the student understanding concept.
This research is an quasi experiment and its design that is used by factorial design. The subject of this research is the student of VIII A as an experiment class and VIII B as a control one. The tehnical of collecting data is using test and questionaire that have been proved its validity and reliability. To analize the data, the writer uses two way anova by the help of SPSS version 20.
The result of the research are 1) there is a difference between students understanding using cooperative learning models through jigsaw with the conventional one, the student of VIII A as an experiment class and VIII B as a control one of the SMPN 1 Kalimanggis. It had been seen by the average of the students post test result which uses cooperative learning through jigsaw is higher than the students who uses the conventional one. 2) There is a difference between the students who have better, common and low both of learning the cooperative learning through jigsaw class and the control one 3) There is an interaction between learning models and students motivation in influencing the student understanding.
The suggestion for this research is that the using of the cooperative learning through jigsaw can be applied as one of the effective models to improve the students understanding concept expecially for IPS subject.
